The ideal playground for ski

Located on a south-facing plateau, Alpe d'Huez is the ideal playground for ski, fresh air and wide open spaces lovers. From its height of 3,330 metres, served by an aerial cable car, the Pic Blanc dominates the 250 km of pistes that plunge down to the villages of Vaujany (1,250 m), Oz-en-Oisans (1,350 m), Villard-Reculas (1,480 m), Huez (1,500 m) and Auris-en-Oisans (1,600 m). The linked resorts retain the traditional charm of mountain villages. Each area offers a different atmosphere: glacier, pine trees, gorges, frozen lakes and wide open spaces.

A range of activities for everyone

For fans of aerobatics, discover aerial sports for ever more thrilling sensations. On the programme: flying in a plane, paragliding, helicopter, first flight and introductory flight in a tilting microlight or gyrocopter, to discover Alpe d'Huez from above.

Events at the heart of the resort

Throughout the winter season, enjoy exclusive events at the Alpe d'Huez resort.

The season kicks off with the FIS Mogul World Cup on 15 and 16 December 2023, where the world's best freestylers put on an extraordinary show!

On 6 and 7 January 2024, the Alpe d'Huez Cup will be held, where champions between the ages of 9 and 16 leave nothing to chance and take advantage of the event to test their skills in a giant slalom.

On 7 January 2024, Nordic skiing takes centre stage with the Alpe d'Huez Ski Marathon organised by Ski Nordique Oisans. This is a race that is recognised as being difficult because of the altitude, the difference in altitude and the environment in which the racers work.

From 15 to 21 January 2024, come along to the 27th International Comedy Film Festival for a week of comedy and laughter! What's not to be missed? Free previews of films, subject to availability!

From 22 to 26 January 2024, the Alpe d'Huez Team Work Sea and Mountain Trophy will be held. 15 teams made up of a sailor, a mountain dweller and a child from the resort will be competing in the Sea and Mountain Trophy. The champions compete against each other in a friendly atmosphere over a wide range of events. It's an opportunity for these adventurers to share their passion for waves and peaks while supporting a charity.

Events all winter long

On 9 and 10 March 2024, the Les Cristaux by Atomic et Vola race will see 650 children aged 4 to 12 compete in a friendly but sporting atmosphere in a variety of skiing disciplines. Accompanied by their parents and coaches, these future champions will be giving their all to win a place on the podium...

On 9 March 2024, as in every winter since 2015, there will be the ultimate Alpe d'Huez race: the Derby du Loup. Starting from the summit of the Pic Blanc at an altitude of 3,330 metres, snow sports fans of all kinds will be timed along a course marked out for the occasion in an off-piste itinerary with a 1,500m vertical drop... Pure fun!

The must-see Tomorrowland Winter festival takes place from 16 to 23 March 2024. All the best DJs on the planet will be in Alpe d'Huez for a third year. The world's biggest electro music festival is back with a brand new line-up and a host of surprises. It's sure to be a feast for the eyes and ears!

From 29 to 31 March 2024, watch the Mundialito 24th Futsal tournament.

On 30 March 2024, discover the Super Sarenne, the longest giant slalom ever organised, with almost 300 gates on the legendary Sarenne piste over a distance of more than 6 km, starting at the Pic Blanc at 3,330 m and finishing at 1,800 m. On the programme: good humour, competition, challenging yourself and festivities!

From 5 to 7 April 2024, discover the comic book festival co-organised with Glénat. The Alpe d'Huez Comics Festival transforms "l'Île au Soleil" into "l'Île aux Bulles", for a new encounter between the mountains and author-illustrators, with signing sessions, workshops and animated films.

Top-class entertainment at Alpe d'Huez

The Coupe de la Fédération will be held on 6 and 7 April 2024. The French Ski Federation and Alpe d'Huez, in partnership with SAMSE and with the support of Dauphiné Libéré - Ski Chrono, are organising the Federation Cup to promote competitive alpine skiing in France.

From 15 to 21 April 2024, join the official European bridge tournament. After the French Chess Championships and its 1,000 participants this summer, the resort of Alpe d'Huez is repeating this winter with another strategy game, this time with 52 cards.

The last event of the winter season will take place on 21 April 2024, and it will be the Sarenne snowbike. Mountain bikers are expected at an altitude of 3,330 metres, at the Pic Blanc, for an untimed descent on a groomed track. And what a track it is! The legendary Sarenne and its 16 km of white gold. Over almost 2,000 metres of negative altitude difference, they'll be putting their competitive spirit, sense of balance and sporting passion to the test right up to the finish in Huez.
